Otherwise fine....

I'm starting to wonder if our weather has taken a jump a month forward.

May this year definitely had June weather: from memory December '08 was unusually sunny, at least the earlier part of the month. January weather.

Right now it feels like spring outside. August is usually bloody miserable but there's a definite whiff of sap in the air.

No sign yet of Wellington's bastard spring north westerly gusts though. Back when I was regularly cycling I used hate the spring. I lived in Thorndon and used to cycle up Moleworth St the wrong way and cut through Parliamentary grounds, scattering officials and minor party MPs behind me.

But the wind tunnel at the corner of Bowen and Lambton was an evil beast. Still one minute, and then it would up and sweep you to one side.
